What type of oil is the healthiest to consume?
Indian household cannot do without adding a little oil to everything they cook, but what kind of oil should be used to stay healthy is the point which we should focus on. There are a couple of oils we use, which help us in various ways. Some of them are:
- Olive oil – Olive oil is the best kind of oil ever known. It is generally called ‘liquid gold’. It is mainly used as a sauté while baking and dressing of a salad. It has relatively low smoke point and you can get the off flavor’s when you high cook are deep fry.
- Avocado oil – Higher saturated fat content is present in this type of oil and is known for its good quality content when used while cooking. It has low polyunsaturated fats and can be a little expensive but is worth every penny.
- Coconut oil – Very commonly used in the southern part of the country and it is one of the healthier options among the vegans. But, again anything in excess is a problem.
- Flaxseed oil – It has a good amount of alpha-linoleic acid and using it can reduce the risk of cancer, arthritis. It is better to use it in cool utensils like for smoothies or salads.
- Walnut oil – It is quite expensive but contains healthy omega-3’s as well as a few additional nutrients as well.
So, these are some of the oils which are healthy to consume, start your cooking regimen by using any of the oils provided above and maintain a healthy and fit body. Adding a little oil to all the food you cook can also add different flavors which you have never known.
